Brebreton's Bar in Ballybritt have raised €22,000 for local charities with their annual tractor run.

The event, which took place on Saturday, August 17, ran in aid of Offaly Down Syndrome Association, We're Doing It For Dennedy, and Embrace Farm Support.

Offaly Down Syndrome Association received €12,000 from the event, with a further €10,000 going to We're Doing It For Dennedy.

We're Doing It For Dennedy is a campaign ran by the family of teenager Michael Dennedy from Kinnity who lost his leg in a tractor accident in 2023. The funds from the campaign are used to access the health care, rehabilitation and future prosthetic technology which Michael will need to regain his mobility.

Sharing their appreciation for the generous donation, Offaly Down Syndrome Association wrote: “A massive thank you to all of the committee and patrons of Brereton's Bar in Ballybritt, County Offaly for your amazing donation to Offaly Down Syndrome Association of €12,000. It was a pleasure working alongside such an amazing team.”

The organisers of the event share their delight with the turnout at the event in a post to Facebook, noting that they've already started planning for next year.

They said: “We gave out over €22,000 to three great causes, Offaly Down Syndrome Association, We're Doing It For Dennedy, and Embrace Farm Support. We had a great night and are already planning for June 29 2025.

“Not a bad days work for an organisation that doesn't gather money before the day apart from donations, or charge an entry fee apart from registered vehicles. There is alot to be said for it. May our charities benefit substantially from the day. Thank you to everyone involved.”
