Birr's Gloster House to feature in new More4 TV series

A new four-part series called 'Country House Auction' is to premiere on More4 this evening, August 13. Gloster House in Birr, Co Offaly will be one of the locations featured.

This series is supported by Tourism Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen and will follow various fine and extraordinary antiques as they are repaired, valued, and then bid for at the Country House Auction.

While the main auction will be at Sheppard's Irish Auction House of The Square in Durrow, there are many other locations set to feature in the series, including Swifte’s Heath and Burnchurch House in County Kilkenny, Limerick Museum and, of course, Gloster House in County Offaly.

Julie Wakley, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Great Britain, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to support the production of this new four-part TV series ‘Country House Auction’.

“Publicity and broadcasts like this are a key element of Tourism Ireland’s programme of activity, to inspire travellers in Britain to put Ireland on their holiday wish-list.”
