Moonlit Movie screenings get underway in Birr
The first in a series of outdoor film screenings in Offaly took place at the Courthouse Yard on Townsend Street during Birr Vintage Week.
Moonlit Movies, organised by OFFline Film Festival, will host a series of outdoor screenings of classic Irish films throughout the month of August across Offaly.
The first film at the Courthouse Yard was the 2003 film Intermission starring Cillian Murphy, Colin Farrell, and Colm Meaney.
The next two screenings are:
Handsome Devil on Saturday, August 24 at 7.30pm at Kinnitty Castle.
The Commitments on Friday, August 30 at 7.30pm at Birr Castle.
Moonlit Movies is possible thanks to funding from the Screen Ireland Audience Development Fund.
