Second win for Men's Rugby Sevens

Ireland's Men Rugby Sevens team, featuring Tullamore's Jordan Conroy, guaranteed themselves a quarter final spot, with a second group stage win in Paris on Wednesday night.

Having overcame South Africa 10-5 in the afternoon, Ireland were out again later that night and secured a comfortable 40-5 victory over Japan.

New Zealand, who have also overcome South Africa and Japan, and Ireland will play on Thursday (3.30pm) to decide who tops the group and who finished second.

Topping Pool A would see Ireland play one of the two third placed teams in the quarter final on Thursday night (8pm). However, a second place finish would leave Ireland facing the winners of Pool C, either home nation France or Fiji, who are seeking a third successive Olympic gold in Men's Sevens (9pm, Thursday).
