McCormack welcomes Community Integration funding for Offaly groups

Offaly County Council Cathaoirleach Tony McCormack has congratulated Offaly Music Generation, Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service, Tullamore Camogie Club, and Tullamore Tidy Towns for their successful applications to The Community Integration Fund.

This fund is dedicated to supporting the integration of migrant and host communities, and these particular groups have shown outstanding dedication to the spirit of inclusion and community building.

Offaly Music Generation received €5,000, and Cllr McCormack stated that the organisation "has been a beacon of cultural integration through music. This initiative not only nurtures creativity but also promotes understanding and appreciation of different cultural heritages."

The Fianna Fáil councillor described Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service, which also received €5,000, as "instrumental in providing support to vulnerable individuals within the community, ensuring that services are accessible to everyone and are vital in fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all."

On Tullamore Camogie Club, which received €5,000 as well, Cllr McCormack stated that it "is making significant strides in promoting a traditional Irish sports as a means of community integration and a platform for cultural exchange."

Finally he said that Tullamore Tidy Towns, who receive €3,700, "has successfully brought together volunteers from diverse backgrounds to enhance the town with their community clean-up initiatives and planting projects not only are they improving the physical surroundings but also encourage cooperation and friendships among residents."
