Offaly cyclists take part in scenic Ring of Clare cycle

Cyclists from across Offaly took part in an 160km cycle event in Clare over the weekend.

Members of the Tullamore Wheelers Cycling and Touring Club and Edenderry's Team 905 Cycling Club took in the views as they cycled by the Cliffs of Moher at the Škoda Ring of Clare Cycle.

Over 2,000 cyclists made their way across much of County Clare on Saturday, July 20, taking in breathtaking views, braving some challenging weather and enjoying some dry spells too, at the annual cycle. It is estimated that the Škoda Ring of Clare Cycle was worth €1m to the local economy.

This was the 10th year of Škoda's involvement with the Ring of Clare Cycle, and the event is the largest annual leisure sportive event in the Mid West. Cyclists cruised along the Wild Atlantic Way, travelled through the Loop Head peninsula and returned along by the Shannon Estuary waters.
