Offaly girl to play at half-time of All Ireland hurling final

This Sunday will be a particularly memorable one for a talented young camogie player from Offaly, who will get to play in front of a sold-out Croke Park at half-time in the All Ireland hurling final.

Annie Rose Hogan, of Coolderry Central School, earned this amazing opportunity when she won the Offaly Cumann na mBunscol skills competition for girls back in April.

Annie Rose plays with Naomh Brid Camogie Club, which is wishing her the best of luck on Sunday.

The club said the chance to play at half time during the biggest day in the hurling calendar was a real honour.

"Annie Rose has starred for her school, Coolderry Central School, in this year's Cumann na mBunscol competitions and it is proud moment to see her making her well-deserved debut in Croke Park on Sunday. One we're sure, as a club, won't be her last.

"Enjoy the day, Annie Rose," said the Naomh Brid club.

The All Ireland decider between Clare and Cork gets underway at 3.30pm on Sunday.
