Offaly finalist announced in 'Nose of Tralee' competition

The Offaly finalist has been announced in this year's 'Nose of Tralee' pet competition.

Organisers said a total of 1,650 pet owners submitted entries, with 32 finalists emerging - one from each county.

Some 29 dogs and three cats made it through to the final, and Offaly is to be represented by 'Pugba'.

He is described as "a loving caring playful little man who bring joy and comfort to all he meets".

According to his owner, Pugba "will sit and pose for the camera, he's not fussy with treats, and loves to share his treats with his doggy friends, he is full of energy and loves to be the centre of attention".

Voting in the competition opens on August 1 and will end on August 19, with the announcement of the winner taking place the following day.
