Major road and transport upgrades proposed for Clara

Offaly County Council has submitted a Part 8 planning application for public consultation, outlining upgrades to the existing bus stops at Church Street, Clara.
The proposed works would include the removal of existing footpaths to allow for new proposed bus pull-in areas, the construction of new kerbing and footpath areas to facilitate new bus stops, the construction of two new bus shelters with public lighting, the modification of existing footpaths to accommodate disabled access for the new bus-stop waiting and set-down areas, and the installation of two 'Real-Time Passenger Information Poles', with logos and signage.
Should permission be granted, the works are likely to result in traffic disruptions for the area.
In addition to improving the bus stop access, the proposed works would also re-furbish existing road; with the installation of Kassal kerbing, road surfacing works, the installation of white lines, road marking and road signage, associated ancillary works, and the provision of appropriate landscaping works included in the application.
The plan also outlines the re-location or diversion of existing public services and utilities where necessary.
The plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will be available for inspections, or to purchase, for a period of 4 weeks, from July 11 to August 12, during the office hours at the following locations:

Tullamore Municipal District, Town Hall, Cormac Street, Tullamore, County Offaly, R35 WV59 - Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 1.00pm & 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
Submissions relating to the proposed development may be made before 4 pm on Tuesday, August 27.
