Siroccos celebrates 25 years in business

One of the longest-established and most successful family run businesses in Tullamore, Siroccos restaurant, celebrates a milestone birthday this weekend.

25 years after it was first established on Patrick Street by Paula Tahraoui and her late husband, Rico, the hugely-popular neighbourhood restaurant will mark the landmark occasion with a special celebration evening for staff, customers, friends and family this evening (Friday).

Proprietor Paula Tahraoui, whose husband Rico, was tragically killed by a drunk driver in a horrific road accident just 18 months after the restaurant opened, said she and her family are “incredibly grateful” for the support they have received from the local community over the past 25 years. Paying tribute to the loyal customer base of the restaurant she said this evening's celebration will be “our way of saying a big thank you for the on-going support.”

Paula and Rico's four children, Adam, Sami, Sonia and Rachel, have all been centrally involved in the success story of Siroccos restaurant, which was originally known as Senor Rico for a number of years. Also centrally involved are the long-term team of chefs, front of house staff and suppliers.

“We have made many great memories here over the past 25 years, and our birthday celebration will give us an opportunity to reflect on the good times and celebrate with our loyal customers and friends who have supported us right from the start of our journey in Tullamore,” said Paula this week.
