Crunch game for Offaly ladies football

Offaly Ladies footballers must overcome Wicklow this weekend to avoid their intermediate status resting on a do-or-die relegation final.

Such are the fine margins that Offaly could have, instead, been involved in an All-Ireland Intermediate Championship quarter final this weekend.

Instead, two late Monaghan points in the final group game in Glenisk O'Connor Park deprived Offaly of victory and a quarter final spot and instead condemned them to a relegation play off.

Offaly face Wicklow at 2.30pm on Sunday in Crettyard and a victory secures their intermediate status for next season. A defeat would see them meet the losers of the other semi final, Antrim v Cavan, in a crunch relegation final.
