'Offaly are back!' Local holidaymaker spots county shirt in Spanish shop

The recent wave of sporting success from Offaly is now being felt in far-off shores, if one local man's holiday snap is any indication!

Ballinamere GAA clubman Joe Gaffey, who is on holiday on the Costa Brava in Spain, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a photo of jerseys of famous sports teams that were being sold there.

Alongside the FC Barcelona, Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls shirts that were on display was the unmistakable green white and gold of the Offaly GAA jersey!

"Offaly are definitely back," wrote Joe. "I am on the holidays in Calella on the Costa Brava and spotted this. Offaly GAA jerseys for sale, alongside Barcelona and Chicago Bulls."

One of the replies to Joe's tweet was from Offaly shirt sponsor Glenisk, which asked: "Sure, what else would you wear on holiday?"
