€5,000 donated to Dochas Offaly from recent concert

Members of Tullamore Stage School Ladies Choir and Youth Choir presented a cheque for €5,000 to Dochas Offaly Cancer Support last week from the proceeds of their recent sell-out 'Summer Sounds' concert.

The members were warmly welcomed to the Dochas Offaly centre in Tullamore by Service Manager John Conroy, Mary Guinan and Dermot Murphy who thanked them for their very generous contribution towards the work of the centre.

Tullamore Stage School Ladies Choir were represented at the presentation by Mary Hughes and Fionnuala Doheny, while Aida Carroll and Rory Byrne represented the Youth Choir. Also present was the Director of Tullamore Stage School and Musical Director of both choirs, Regina McCarthy, who expressed the hope that the donation would go "some way towards assisting the vital services provided by Dochas Offaly."
