The former Royal Shannon Hotel

Views sought on future use of former hotel

The deadline for public views on possible future uses for the former Royal Shannon Hotel in Banagher is approaching.

Offaly County Council has commissioned a conservation masterplan to refurbish and reactivate this significant heritage building in the heart of Banagher. It is strategically located adjacent to the marina which was the subject of the recently launched Banagher Marina and Environs Masterplan which will, it is hoped, act as a catalyst to drive regeneration in the area, sustain tourism and improve the social and economic development of Banagher.

Offaly County Council is now seeking public views on the best end uses for the building.
