Liam Quinn (Fine Gael), Edenderry
NAME: Liam Quinn
ADDRESS: Ballyteigue Little, Ballycommon, Tullamore.
PARTY: Fine Gael
SPECIAL AREAS OF INTEREST:
The County Development Plan and its impact on rural housing. Roads and physical infrastructure. Investment in rural communities.
WHY ARE YOU RUNNING IN THIS ELECTION?
To ensure that community funding set aside by renewable energy companies stays in Offaly. I want to seek changes to Future RESS Schemes to allow greater investment in areas impacted by renewable developments.
I'll also be looking to secure additional funding for our road network by seeking changes to how roads funding is distributed nationally.
Another goal is to have the Edenderry Municipal District designated as 'An Area of Strategic Importance' under our Climate Action Plan, which could release additional funding to tackle our infrastructure deficit.
WHAT ARE THE TWO BIGGEST ISSUES IN YOUR AREA?
Having changes made to the Renewable Energy Support Scheme, and roads funding.
WHO DO YOU MOST ADMIRE AND WHY?
I have always been in awe of what Michael Collins achieved by the time he died at the age of just 31.
