Gráinne Walsh to face North Korean opponent today as Olympic bid continues

Gráinne Walsh will continue her bid to qualify for the Olympics when she faces a North Korean opponent in Thailand at lunchtime today (Wednesday).

The Offaly woman will be coming up against Hyo Sun Hwang, from the People's Republic of Korea, in her second qualifying bout at the Olympic qualification tournament in Bangkok.

The bout is scheduled for approximately 1.30pm, Irish time, but there is no official streaming coverage of the fights at this stage of the tournament.

Gráinne must win today, and then win two more contests, on Friday and Sunday, in order to qualify for this summer's Olympic Games in Paris.

In her opening bout in Thailand, on Friday last, the local woman defeated a Vietnamese opponent on a 5-0 unanimous points decision.
