Parish pump politics still going strong in Clonony!

With local issues very much to the fore across the country in the run up to polling day on June 7, Offaly Social Democrats Cllr Clare Claffey has very firmly proved that parish pump politics is indeed alive and well in the tiny Offaly village of Clonony by placing one of her election posters literally on the railings of the local parish pump!

The striking image was spotted this week by eagle-eye local amateur photographer, Marty Guinan, and is worthy of a place in the annals of Irish political history.

Hat's off to Cllr Claffey''s election team for what must surely rank as one of the most strategically-placed political posters of all time!
