The Birr Breakfast Fly-In charity event, which was held last weekend at Birr Airfield, has raised a hugely impressive sum of €12,600 for the Society of St Vincent de Paul.
Sé Pardy, who organised the event, said, "We are really pleased to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who made the recent Breakfast Fly-In at Birr Airfield a resounding success.
"Thanks to your incredible generosity and support, we are thrilled to announce that €12,600 has been raised, adding to the ongoing efforts in aid of St Vincent de Paul.
"This remarkable achievement brings the total amount raised, through various fundraising efforts over the last few years, to an astonishing €454,000!
"Your contributions will make a profound difference in the lives of those in need, particularly in Offaly, where the St. Vincent de Paul organisation tirelessly works to support individuals and families facing hardship."
He added, "A special round of applause is due to the dedicated Marion Carter and the St Vincent de Paul volunteers whose unwavering commitment and tireless efforts made this event possible. Their dedication is truly inspiring and deserving of recognition.
"We also extend our deepest appreciation to all those who worked diligently to prepare the delicious breakfast and ensure that everything ran smoothly. Your hard work behind the scenes did not go unnoticed and contributed significantly to the event's success.
"Despite the challenges posed by a waterlogged runway, the spirit of community prevailed, and we were grateful to welcome helicopters to the event.
"A heartfelt thank you goes out to Simtech Aviation, Exec Helicopters, the Aer Corps, Lieutenant General Seán Clancy the Defence Forces Chief of Staff and Brig Gen Rory O’Connor of the Irish Air Corps and invaluable support and participation on the day.
"Once again, thank you all for your incredible generosity, support, and commitment to making a positive impact in our community.
"Together, we have demonstrated the power of unity and compassion, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to support St. Vincent de Paul and those they serve."
