Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund selected as PTSB charity partner

The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund has been voted as one of six charities selected as Permanent TSB Community Fund Partners for 2024.

A post on the fund's social media said it was “thrilled” with the news and wholeheartedly thanked the people who took the time to vote for the fund. “We owe our utmost thanks to the staff of Tullamore PTSB who nominated the memorial fund as their staff charity of choice and to the connecting midland branches for their support during the voting process also.

The support received was phenomenal and did not go unnoticed. We believe it’s a true testament to the lady Ashling was and the lasting mark she left on many people’s lives.”

Over the coming year the staff of the North West PTSB regional branches will now undertake a number of fundraisers to raise money for the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund and Cancer Care West who were also chosen as charity community fund partners in our region. The Permanent TSB bank will then match staff fundraising amounts up to €10,000. In total, around €200,000 may be split between the six charity partners.

The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund concluded: “These funds will go a long way in continuing to keep Ashling’s name and legacy alive by supporting the enhancement and development of various areas within the Traditional Irish arts, culture and heritage.”

The PTSB Community Fund supports local communities by providing funding to community organisations that are working hard to make a difference. The Community Fund operates in each region across Ireland and aims to provide around €200,000 in funding to six local charities chosen by the public.
