'Rambling House' event to raise funds for Family Carers Offaly
Following on from their very successful event last October, Offaly Older Person's Network has organised a second 'Rambling House' social evening to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge.
The fun-filled evening of music, song, stories and craic will take place on Thursday, March 7 next in The Phoenix, O'Connor Square, Tullamore with all proceeds going to Family Carers Offaly. Proceedings get underway at 8pm and admission is €10.
Offaly Older Person’s Network celebrated Positive Ageing Week with a very successful and entertaining Rambling House event, on October 5 last year in Tullamore Rugby Club which was attended by over 120 people of all ages.
Molly Buckley acted as MC for the evening while the Bean an Tí was Margaret Guinan. Fellow Offaly Older Person's Network members, Alice Carroll and Frances Kawala joined in the festivities and ensured plenty of audience participation. Among the other contributors were Ed Cunningham and friends; Rita Davis, Youth Work Ireland Tullamore and Music Generation performers. Johnny Butterfield and friends brought the evening to a close, and all proceeds from the night – amounting to €1,400 - were donated to Family Carers Ireland to support their excellent work in assisting carers in Offaly.
