Local community based project to hold community forum event

A community based project in Edenderry is facilitating its third community forum this week to help develop artistic activities in the area.

The event will take place in Edenderry Library tomorrow( Wednesday) from 6pm to 7.30pm.

All are welcome to attend to play an active role in supporting Creative Places, Edenderry as the project moves into its third year. They want to hear from a wide range of community voices. Organisers will be seeking feedback and comments from the locals to encourage people to get involved and give them the opportunity to voice what kinds of activities they would enjoy.

Over the coming months, the local project hopes to put together a rotating 'working group' of around eight community members who will support and feed into decision making and work on the long term plans and sustainability for Creative Places, Edenderry as a collective.

Creative Places is run throughout Ireland in several towns and the Edenderry branch of the project is hoping to complement what activities are already happening in the town. It's a community based three-year project to connect, create and develop artistic and cultural activities to enhance the community engagement and spirit within the area. It is supported by Creative Lives, Creative Edenderry, Arts Council Ireland, Offaly County Council and North Offaly Community Development Network.

Anyone interested in attending the community forum should register by emailing: info@creativeplacesedenderry.ie.
