Scheduled power cut in Birr to affect local services on Tuesday

A scheduled power outage in Birr is set to curtail services in the town tomorrow (Tuesday, January 30).

Offaly County Council stated that its Birr Municipal District offices, and Birr Library, would be closed on Tuesday "due to ESB Network electricity supply interruption".

During the closures, phonecalls are to be diverted to the council headquarters in Tullamore.

The council apologised to the public for any inconvenience caused, and said normal service would resume on Wednesday (January 31).

Other services in Birr are set to be affected by the outage also, with St Brendan's Church stating that its usual 10am Mass would not be going ahead tomorrow due to the ESB outage.
