Offaly students compete in national Maths competition final

Tullamore College this week extended its congratulations to four of its students who represented the school with distinction at the ETB Junior Maths Competiton National Final.

The event was held at the Bloomfield House Hotel in Mullingar on Tuesday, and Tullamore students Joshua Razon, Alannah Greenan, Darragh McGrath and Wyatt Winston came in third place out of the 15 teams competing.

The final involved teams from the Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board (LOETB), Longford Westmeath Education and Training Board (LWETB) and Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB).

Oaklands Community College was another Offaly representative in the final, having qualified two teams for the decisive stage of the competition.

The Edenderry school said that, although it didn't win silverware this year, it was "thrilled to have been the only school in LOETB to have two teams qualify - and we look forward to building on this next year".
