Just ten Offaly homes advertised for rental on Daft.ie

The new year brought no change in the struggle facing renters in Offaly, with just ten homes currently being advertised for rental across the entire county on the property website Daft.ie

At the time of writing, there is a one-bedroom apartment advertised for rental in Birr, and a house offered in Geashill.

All of the other Offaly rental properties being advertised on the website have Tullamore addresses.

The asking prices for the ten homes range from €900 a month for the apartment in Birr, to two listings of houses in Tullamore (at Chancery Park and Chancery Park Downs) for €2,000 a month each.

There are currently no properties advertised for rental on Daft.ie in Offaly's second-largest town, Edenderry, nor are there any in areas such as Clara or Ferbane.

Separately, Daft.ie reported that the average asking price of a new house in Offaly now stood at €243,417.

Nationally, house prices rose by an average of 3.4% in 2023, which was the lowest annual increase since 2019.
