Community groups in Offaly can seek funding through new scheme

Community groups in Offaly will be able to apply for special once-off funding early next year.

It follows confirmation that applications in Offaly for funding through the Local Enhancement Programme 2024 will open early in January.

Offaly County Council, in conjunction with Offaly Local Community Development Committee (LCDC), has advised that the Local Enhancement Programme 2024, will be open for applications in early January 2024.  Full details of how to apply will be published on www.offaly.ie  in the new year.

The Local Enhancement Programme 2024 is a once-off fund, funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development.  This fund will replace the Department’s Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) and will be administered locally by the Offaly Local Community Development Committee (LCDCs).

A total fund of €162,599.36 has been made available to Offaly LCDC to support groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas, with minor capital works and improvements to their facilities, and the purchase of equipment for community use.
