Host of Christmas markets to be held across Offaly

A number of Christmas markets and fairs will take place across Offaly in the coming weeks.

A Christmas Fayre will take place in Kilcormac Community Centre on Friday, December 8 from 5pm to 8.30pm. There will be a craft and gift market along with facepainting for kids. A visit to Santa's Grotto costs €7 and printed Santa photos will be available. A shop will also be open on the day.

The Ballycumber Christmas Market will take place on Saturday, December 9 from 4pm to 9pm in Gavin's car park in the village. There are over 30 stalls confirmed for the market including baked goods, crafts, mulled wine, hot food and more. There will also be a live performance by St Manchan's choir and the Ballycumber Christmas lights will be turned on at 8.30pm.

A Christmas Fair and Cafe will be held in Daingean Town Hall on Sunday, December 10 at 12pm. Crafts, bric-a-brac, clothes and baked goods will all be on sale. Also, on Sunday, December 10 a Christmas Food and Wild Wreath Fair will take place from 10.30am to 4pm at Mount Briscoe Organic Farm in Daingean. From must-have festive flavours to hampers and gifts created with sustainable materials and planet-friendly processes, attendees can peruse an array of produce and seasonal wares.

Meanwhile, Eden Collective crafts is running a Christmas Pop Up Shop from Thursday to Sunday for the month of December from 9am to 5.30pm on Granary Court in Edenderry. There will be a wide selection of homemade crafts, baked goods from local crafters.

Also in Edenderry, the Artisan Market and Food Fayre in the Square will be held on Saturday, December 9 and Saturday, December 16 from 11am to 6pm. The market trades weekly on Saturdays from 11am finishing up for Christmas with a special extra long market to allow for a Santa visit on December 16. The market will then return in new year.

Tullamore Food Fayre will take place in Kilcruttin on December 9, December 16 and December 23 from 9.30am to 2pm. It will also include a craft market. A Christmas Market and Coffee Morning, organised by Clara LOETB in aid of Clara Christmas lights will take place on Friday, December 15 in the Convent, Clara GAA grounds from 10am to 12.30pm. Attendees can enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and have a browse around the Christmas market stalls.

Finally, Solas Garden Centre will hold a Christmas market at their premises in the Dublin Rd Business Park in Portarlington on Sundays from 11am to 4pm. The night time Christmas Markets will take place on Thursday nights from 4pm to 9pm until Christmas. The markets bring together the very best of what local crafts people and artists can offer.
