Another low temperature warning issued for Midlands counties

Westmeath, Roscommon and Offaly are among eight counties facing another level-yellow weather warning for low temperatures and ice tonight (Monday) and into Tuesday morning.

The warning comes into effect at 6pm this evening and continues until 10am on Tuesday morning.

Temperatures in the Midlands and West are expected to drop to around -3 or -4 degrees in some places, while it will remain just above freezing along the east coast.

Met Éireann said the counties affected by the weather warning should expect slippery surfaces underfoot and hazardous travelling conditions.

This is the latest in a series of yellow-level low temperature warnings issued for the Midlands over the last week.

By Wednesday the weather is expected to turn milder, but also wetter and more windy.
