Sports coaching seminar in Clara this weekend

A sports coaching seminar will take place in ASPIRE Performance Centre, Clara this Saturday December 2 from 4pm until 6pm.

Managed by former Offaly senior footballer, sports scientist and strength and conditioning coach Joe Quinn, ASPIRE Performance Centre is a centre of excellence for everything fitness related and caters for athletes, sports teams and individuals just looking to take better care of their personal fitness.

This seminar is part of ASPIRE's education series and is aimed at coaches looking to extend their knowledge so they are better equipped to prepare their teams to perform at their best. The seminar will address both physical and psychological aspects of performance.

Joe Quinn will present on 'Best Practice in Speed Development'. This session will help you to optimise your athlete's speed development over the course of a season.

Sports psychologist Keith Begley will present on 'Performance Anxiety and Performing Under Pressure'. This session will enable you to understand the impact of match day nerves on performance and will also take a look at the experiences of Mayo in Gaelic football over the years.

There will be opportunities for Q&A with both presenters and there will also be opportunities to network with other coaches, while the nominal €10 cost includes tea, coffee and refreshments on the day.

Joe Quinn, a BSc Sport and Exercise Science graduate from University of Limerick, is a highly qualified strength and conditioning professional with almost 20 years experience in elite level sport and general population health and well-being.
