International Men's Day celebrated at successful Tullamore event

The Charleville Centre in Tullamore was buzzing with activity on Saturday, November 18, as men from all over the county were welcomed by staff from Offaly Local Development Company for a celebration of International Men's Day 2023.

International Men’s Day is an annual event that aims to show appreciation for the men in our lives and their contributions to society.

The celebration was organised by Offaly Local Development's SICAP (Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme) team.

Men from all over Offaly attended the celebration in Tullamore.

It kicked off with attendees being treated to a full, hot breakfast, thanks to the team at Offaly Healthy Homes.

Breakfast was followed by guest speaker Pat Flanagan, the former Offaly and Westmeath gaelic football manager, who has years of invaluable experience working with GAA teams, young people and as an NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) practitioner.

Pat delivered an engaging talk on the importance of mental strength and the power of mindset change.
