Ten new social housing units planned in Daingean
Offaly County Council has outlined plans to build ten new social housing units at the Beechwood Court estate on Circular Road in Daingean.
The development is currently open for public consultation through the Part 8 planning process which is used by the local authority for its own developments.
The ten new homes would consist of one four-bed semi-detached single storey house along with nine two-bed terraced or semi-detached single storey units, and associated site development works.
The council said Appropriate Assessment screening was carried out in respect of the development and concluded it would not have a significant impact on any environmentally sensitive site.
Public submissions on the project opened on October 10 and can be made up until December 5.
Further details in relation to the project can be viewed on the council's website here.
Previously, a development of nine social homes at Circular Road in Daingean obtained planning approval through the council's Part 8 planning process in 2020.
