New bandstand installed in local park

A new bandstand was installed at Lloyd Town Park in Tullamore on Monday last.

Senior Executive Officer, Jean Ryan gave an update on the bandstand at the latest meeting of Tullamore Municipal District and said that the public toilets have yet to be delivered to the site.

The bandstand and toilets will be officially opened once the work on-site is complete.

Cllr Neil Feighery and Cllr Declan Harvey asked if there was additional funding for lighting around the bandstand.

Ms Ryan said that as soon as there's funding opportunities available they will look at obtaining lighting for the bandstand and setting up sound so the bandstand can be used for small events.

The council is considering upgrading the existing CCTV in Lloyd Town Park along with potentially installing further CCTV, she added.

The vandalised water feature will also be restored under another funding stream, Ms Ryan told the council meeting.
