Make a plan to see Athlone Film Club's next offering

Athlone Film Club returns to the Dean Crowe Theatre next, Tuesday evening, October 10.

Plan 75 is the club's second film of the new season. Set in Japan with English subtitles, this film is sure to be a conversation starter.

Set in a not-too-distant future, director Chie Hayakawa imagines a Japan where citizens over the age of 75 years are considered a tangible threat to the country's economy and so a government programme is introduced to encourage and incentivise voluntary end of life.

The film follows three characters whose lives are impacted by ‘Plan 75’ in very different ways.

Plan 75 explores the dangers of neglecting a society's older population and portrays the beauty and dignity of human life.

Athlone Film Club is very grateful to the local community for the huge level of support for the opening night in September which kicked off with a very well received film, 'The Blue Caftan'. It was great to see so many people come together to support and experience some culture on the big screen.

Doors open at the Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone next Tuesday at 7.30pm and the film starts at 8pm. Entry is €10 per film, cash only please.
