John Kilroy of Kilroy’s Kitchens.

The Kilroy name is back in Tullamore!

The Kilroy name is set to make a triumphant return to Tullamore as Kilroy's Kitchens prepares to open a new store in the town this weekend.

Kilroy's Kitchens will open its new shop at High Street in Tullamore on Friday, September 29 and there will be a launch event in the shop that weekend.

John Kilroy owns Kilroy's Kitchens which fits all types of kitchens, providing a high-end service in terms of the design.

He is the grandson of Dermot Kilroy who owned the original Kilroy's store which operated for years at High Street, which is now home to the Esker Arts Centre. The original Kilroy's shop sold fridges, furniture and light hardware and had stores in Athlone, Ballinasloe, Mullingar, Nenagh and Limerick. It is still fondly remembered for providing TV rentals at a time when many could not afford the luxury of purchasing a television.

John explained that Kilroy's Kitchens don't charge a high-end price and provide an excellent service by manufacturing and fitting kitchens to the specifications of each customer.

They also offer an impressive 3D virtual reality display of the design process on large screens in the store. This enables customers to try before they buy and to see what colours and materials they like best. Kilroy's Kitchens already has a store in Mullingar and has been providing interior solutions, furniture and kitchens for over four generations.

The company fits a variety of kitchens such as solid kitchens, PFC (Prefinish Coating) and solid timber kitchens.

He added that the materials don't fade or chip. “Our kitchens are designed for life.”

Kilroy's Kitchens provides up to three free consultations with their in-store experts and usually works on an appointment-only basis. Once a customer has confirmed what they are looking for, the kitchen firm will send a surveyor to their property to measure the room, and then make the kitchen to order. Everything is pre-made in the workshop.

The owner of the kitchen business stated that they are offering a “different service to anyone else” in the market.

All floors and worktops are available in a variety of highly sought after materials such as granite, stone and wooden materials such as oak and ash.

The kitchen fitter experts also specialise in designing and installing wardrobes for all areas of the home and can maximise the space in areas such as attics, dormer rooms, offices, playrooms and offices.

Prices are provided on an individual basis but Kilroy's Kitchens try to cater for every budget.
