Yellow weather warning issued for high temperatures
A status yellow weather warning has been issued in Westmeath and Offaly for very warm and humid weather on Thursday and Friday.
Daytime temperatures have been forecast in excess of 27 degrees in many areas away from coasts with night time temperatures not falling below 15 degrees.
The alert will take effect from 8am on Thursday, lasting until 8am on Saturday.
Potential impacts include heat stress, uncomfortable sleeping conditions and risk of water related incidents.
