Five-star US victory for Darragh Kenny
Belmont rider Darragh Kenny won the 1.50m Speed Class as Irish riders recorded multiple top placings
Darragh Kenny dominated at the CSI5* show in Bridgehampton, America over the weekend.
Kenny began the show on Thursday with a second-place finish in the 1.45m Speed Stakes riding Eddy Blue, owned by Kerry Anne LLC.
A new partnership for Kenny, this 11-year-old bay gelding is showing his talent. The pair have won two international classes so far and this is the first CSI5* they have contested.
Kenny jumped a foot-perfect clear round to stop the clock in 31.95 seconds, just behind Rene Dittmer in 31.18 seconds.
This was a sign of things to come for this combination and on Saturday evening they claimed victory in the 1.50m $78,000 Hampton Classic Speed Cup sponsored by The Agency, jumping clear in 69.27 seconds.
McLain Ward took second place in a time of 69.68 seconds.
Conor Swail added to the Irish success coming home in third place with Vital Chance de la Roque.
In Sunday’s 1.60m CSI5* Grand Prix Kenny added to his tally from the week, finishing seventh with Chic Chic, owned in partnership between Kenny and Vlock Show Stables.
