Fiona Pender memorial walk event set for Sunday

The annual Fiona Pender Memorial Walk/Run will take place on Sunday in Tullamore.

The event remembers Tullamore woman Fiona, who has been missing now for 27 years.

She was last seen at her home on Church Street, Tullamore, on August 22, 1996. At the time she was sseve months pregnant and was said to be in good form and looking forward to the birth of her baby.

The walk will commence at 11.30am at Fiona's Way monument on the Grand Canal.

Organisers have asked the public to show their continued support to Fiona's family and friends to help ensure Fiona and her baby are not forgotten.

Gardai recently renewed their appeal for information.
