Project manager sought for Lough Boora sculptures

Creative Ireland Offaly has committed funding for the repair and/or maintenance of sculptures at Lough Boora Sculpture Park and to meet project management costs.

As a result, Offaly County Council is seeking to engage the services of an individual or team to manage a programme of maintenance for the sculptures.

The chosen individual or team will be working in collaboration with partner organisation Bord na Móna on a contract for services basis.

This is the first phase of a longer-term project and the council and Bord na Móna will aim to extend the contract to a second phase of the programme if funding becomes available.

The concept of the Sculpture Park at Lough Boora Discovery Park was developed during an international conference held in Lough Boora in 2002. Over the nine years that followed, under the artistic direction of Kevin O’Dwyer, and involving a partnership arrangement with Bord na Móna and Offaly County Council, the sculpture park evolved to become a highly respected site for quality land art commissions.

The deadline for applications closes at 4pm on Monday, September 18. Applications should be emailed to arts@offalycoco.ie
