Local credit union agrees sponsorship of Edenderry GAA nursery programme

Croí Laighean Credit Union, which serves parts of Offaly and Kildare, announced today (Monday) that it has partnered with Edenderry GAA in a new sponsorship agreement for the next three years.

The arrangement will see Croí Laighean Credit Union sponsoring Edenderry GAA's Cúl Redz Nursery Programme.

Launched in 2011, the Cúl Redz Nursery Programme caters for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 8.

The programme introduces young boys and girls to Gaelic football and helps to develop their fundamental Gaelic football and movement skills in a fun and friendly environment.

The popularity of the Cúl Redz has grown every year, and this year the programme has over 90 members who participate in training sessions every Saturday morning.

Speaking at the launch of the sponsorship agreement, Valerie Tyrrell, Community Development Officer with Croí Laighean Credit Union said, "We are delighted to partner with a community-focused club like Edenderry GAA, and we believe this partnership further strengthens our links within the local community.

"The Cúl Redz are the future of Edenderry GAA, and they are also the future of Croí Laighean Credit Union. Edenderry GAA will give them the skills on the pitch, and we want to teach them the lifelong skills of saving and managing their money, so it is the perfect partnership.

"We are delighted to build a long-term relationship with the club and support the community ethos of Edenderry GAA, an ethos that is also shared by Croí Laighean Credit Union."

Welcoming this sponsorship deal, Willie Forde, Chairman of Edenderry GAA said, "Cúl Redz has been the cornerstone of the growth of the club since we started it back in 2011, many of the players now playing men's and ladies adult football and hurling all began the GAA journey with the Cúl Redz.

"The Cúl Redz continues to grow each year and we are delighted now that we have a new partnership with Croí Laighean Credit Union and hope to grow this partnership along with the Cúl Redz."

Edenderry GAA’s Cúl Redz train every Saturday from 10am in the Gaelic Park and new players are always welcome.

Croí Laighean Credit Union is one of Ireland's largest Credit Unions with over a quarter of a billion in assets, and over 44,000 members.
