Passing of prominent South Offaly figure
The funeral mass of prominent South Offaly citizen Ivan Sheppard will take place on Monday.
Mr Sheppard, Lismoney, Kinnitty, passed away on Saturday, July 1, peacefully, in the loving care of St James's Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family.
A former auctioneer and lifelong farming activist, Mr Sheppard was a strong voice for his local community for many decades.
He served as chairman of Offaly IFA, and also was heavily involved in community and tourism interests in South Offaly and his native Kinnitty.
Predeceased by his brothers Derek and Robert. Beloved husband of Dorothy and dearly loved father of Keith, Jane, Alan, Ian and Trudy and their spouses Catherine, David Ann, Sarah and Ray. Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, sisters Valerie and Margaret, sister in law Vivienne, grandchildren: Chloe, Luke, Cian, Katy, Piper, Abbie, Scarlett, Amber, Jessie, Harry, Eliza, Ollie, Tommy, Robbie, Ciara and Missy and great-grandson Seamie, extended family and friends.
Funeral Mass on Monday at 2pm in St. Finian's Church, Kinnitty. Burial afterwards in St Flannan's Cemetery, Kinnitty.
