Double celebrations at Mountlucas parkrun

Clear skies and sunshine greeted the 50 participants and volunteers at Mountlucas Windfarm for the Mountlucas parkrun last Saturday morning.

There was a festive atmosphere as two parkrun regulars celebrated their 100th parkrun. Janie Buckley and Geraldine Mahon were joined by family and friends to help celebrate this particular milestone. Both Janie and Geraldine are great supporters of Mountlucas parkrun, volunteering on a regular basis.

Áine Walsh, parkrun event ambassador for the Midlands region, was also in attendance on Saturday morning, completing the run with fellow Longford parkrun participant Raymond Grehan. Both of them enjoyed their visit to Mountlucas and vowed to return again in the near future.

Parkrun is a free weekly timed 5k event for runners and walkers that takes place every Saturday morning at more than 2,000 locations in 23 Countries across the world.
