Midland art lovers encouraged to "get bidding" in exciting online fundraising art auction
Art lovers across the Midlands have a once in a lifetime opportunity to get their hands on some incredible works of art which are currently on sale in an exciting online art auction which runs until this Friday, April 14, to raise funds for the new Esker Arts Centre in Tullamore.
Over 50 superb works of art have been donated by local artists for the novel online auction, which is being conducted by LSL Auctions. Full details of all the pieces in the collection, and details of how to make a bid, are available in the Art Auction Catalogue, which is now available to view at: https://www.lslauctions.com/OnlineAuction-TCAC
The art auction is part of a trio of fundraising events which have been organised by Tullamore Lions Club to mark the opening weekend of Esker Arts Centre on High Street in Tullamore, which includes a monster raffle and also a Gala Concert in the new facility on Friday night at 8pm featuring the Academy Chamber Choir, TSS Ladies Choir and the Dublin Welsh Male Voice Choir.
Many of the pieces of art which have been donated to the online art auction for Esker Arts Centre are currently on display in business premises throughout Tullamore as part of the Lions Club Art Trail. Included among the works is a stunning painting of Charleville Castle and a poignant painting from the Tullamore Tradfest Concert which was held last year to honour the memory of the late Ashling Murphy.
Tullamore Lions Club and LSL Auctions are encouraging everyone to "start bidding now" from the comfort of their own home for a host of amazing artistic works. As well as supporting a fantastic local cause, bidders will also be able to get their hands on some never to be repeated deals.
One of the local artists who has donated to the online art auction in aid of Esker Arts Centre is Vincent Devine, whose stunning triptych portrait of cervical check campaigner, the late Vicky Phelan, raised over €58,000 for charity.
Speaking about the auction this week, Vincent said he is "thrilled" to be donating to such an important fundraiser. He has donated a blank canvas on which the highest bidder will be able to commission "whatever they want on it" he says.
"The arts centre is a long time coming and a huge boost to the area and I’m delighted to be able to support it in some way" said the acclaimed artist.
