PHOTOS: Kilcormac school's musicians hit right note at busking competition
The musical talent of students from Coláiste Naomh Cormac in Kilcormac was on full display recently with ten acts participating in the school's Wellbeing Week busking competition.
Clodagh Murphy and Eoin Moylan from the Coláiste Naomh Cormac Student Council had the hard task of picking the Student Council Award Winner, while Principal Mr Crann and Trad Group organisers Ms Hennessy and Ms Browne judged the Junior and Senior categories.
The Student Council Winner was fifth year student Caoimhe Rigney, who sang to her own accompaniment on piano. The skill shown by Caoimhe was very impressive.
The Senior Category Winner was transition year student Conor Delaney with his exceptional piano skills. The runners-up were Ultan, Tomás and Cathal Carroll who played lively trad music accompanied by the rhythmic accompaniment of outstanding Bodhrán player Oliver Young.
The Junior Award winner was second year student John McDonald who had the entire audience singing along to his Irish ballads.
The "One to Watch in the Future" award went to the rocking third year pair of Logan O'Brien and Lochlainn Daly.
CNC Kilcormac showed their exceptional variety of talent with traditional, rock, pop and ballads with great Irish dancing from Tiernan Barron.
The school congratulated all those who took part, and the wellbeing team for continuing this tradition.
