The Peatlands Tour 2023 was officially launched on Friday last in the Blackthorn, Daingean.

The annual event, hosted by Daingean Grand Canal Wheelers, takes place on Saturday, May 6. The event offers 2 distances to suit all capabilities, 40km and 80km. Starting off in Daingean, the course takes in neighbouring towns like Edenderry and Rhode, before the cycle splits, with the 40km group making their return to Daingean, whilst the 80km group continue on further to Tyrellspass and Tullamore.

Since the first event took place the club has raised large sums of money for local charities and community groups. This year the group is delighted to have partnered with the Daingean Lourdes Group Fund and and Ken Smollen Food Appeal.
