€100k road safety works in Walsh Island to proceed

Fianna Fail Cllr Eddie Fitzpatrick has welcome Safety Improvement Works funding for Walsh Island village which was secured due to ongoing safety issues within the village.

Cllr Fitzpatrick said that on request from residents and the principal of the local National School he met with the area engineer asking that a proposal be put forward to the Department for approval of funding.

"I am now delighted to announce €100,000 has been secured for the works.

The proposed works are currently on display in the Town Hall in Edenderry and also on Offaly County Council's website and the closing date for submissions is Thursday, April 6, at 4pm.

"I would ask all residents to look at the proposals and make submissions on the plan and have your say in your village," he said.
