Tullamore leisure centre celebrates 'Great Place to Work' title
Staff at the Aura Leisure Centre in Tullamore this week celebrated its achievement in being officially recognised as one of the best places in which to work in Ireland.
The centre, in Cloncollog, Tullamore, is part of The Aura Holohan Group, which was recognised at the annual 'Great Place to Work Awards' on Wednesday of this week, February 22.
The awards are based on anonymous feedback from employees about the workplace experience. This year was the company's fifth in which it was ranked in the Top 30, as a top Irish workplace, and it represented its highest ranking to date with a finish in 11th place.
The Aura Holohan Group said the announcement that it was among the 11 'Best Large Workplaces in Ireland', following on from its official certification as a 'Great Place to Work in 2022-23' was "a huge achievement" for the organisation.
"You cannot have engaged and loyal customers if you don’t have engaged and passionate staff," commented the Founder and Executive Chairman of the Aura Holohan Group, Gar Holohan.
"We are on a mission to increase community-wide participation in sport, fitness and exercise activities in Ireland and to help people live healthier and happier lives. And we are very fortunate to have attracted a team of people who are passionate ambassadors for this mission.
"That is why we put a huge amount of our resources into focusing on our values and purpose, which in turns makes Aura a great place to be for both our staff and our customers," he stated.
The Aura Holohan Group includes 10 Aura Leisure Centres, 5 Anytime Fitness Clubs nationwide, as well as DKIT Sport in Dundalk and Holohan Leisure Consultancy.
