Scratch card winner in Offaly scoops €500,000
The National Lottery quotes odds of 1 in 300,000 of winning the €500,000 top prize on their All Cash Extravaganza scratch card. But one Offaly player recently did just that, taking home a cool half a million euro after buying the €20 card.
The winning ticket was purchased in Applegreen filling station and shop in Birr.
The winner, who wishes to stay private, according to a National Lottery spokesperson, claimed their prize on Thursday, August 25 last.
The average odds of winning a prize on the premium card is 1 in 3.19, according to the National Lottery website.
