Five-time All Ireland winner appointed as Offaly camogie manager

Former Tipperary camogie star Noelle Kennedy, who won five senior All Ireland titles with her county, has been ratified as the new Offaly camogie manager.

The Offaly Camogie County Board announced the appointment following its meeting yesterday (Wednesday) evening.

"We would like to wish Noelle and her backroom team the very best of luck during her tenure," said the board.

Kennedy (46), from the Toomevara club, won senior All Irelands with Tipperary in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2004.

In her first All Ireland success, in 1999, she scored six points, all from frees, which was half of Tipperary's total in a one-point victory over Kilkenny.

She also lined out in the All Ireland finals of 2002 and 2005, both of which involved defeats for Tipperary against Cork.

The Offaly camogie side will be competing at intermediate level next season, after coming out on the wrong end of a relegation play-off against Clare in Moneygall in July.
