Local photographer captures Sturgeon Moon in Poolbeg

August's full moon, which is known traditionally as The Sturgeon Moon, was captured in stunning fashion recently at Poolbeg Lighthouse, Dublin by Tullamore photographer Ger Rogers.

The full Moon in August was reportedly named the Sturgeon Moon by Native American fishing tribes, due to there being an abundance of that type of fish at that time of year.
