Festival Edenderry to return next month
The annual Festival Edenderry will take place next month from Friday, July 1 to Sunday, July 3.
This is the 4th year of the festival and it will be officially opened by Pamela Uba, Miss Ireland 2021. Pamela who is a front line worker, will lead a parade of Champions featuring winners in all sports and activities who will proudly carry their trophies. A special place of honour in the parade will be reserved for frontline workers who kept our country going throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The Festival Edenderry committee is delighted to announce that they will once again be hosting the summer festival. After the trials and tribulations of the last two years, they are excited to be able to bring some great news to the local community.
An exciting new addition to this year’s festival will be the presence of Comic-con characters. All dressed in their amazing costumes, they will be seen running through the streets interacting with the children for play and selfies.
A special exhibition centre will be set up in the Carrolls Menswear premises which will feature vintage toys, giant Superhero models, video games and a green screen for special photos. There will also be some super Lego constructions on display.
The busking competition will take place with a first prize of €1000 and runners up prizes of €100 each.
2019 winner Tia Burke had the opportunity to play at Electric Picnic shortly after her win. She will also make a guest appearance during this year’s event.
A dedicated children’s day on Sunday will once again feature fairground rides, magic shows, music and games and Paw Patrol which was such a huge success in 2019.
A full programme of events will be announced in the coming weeks. Visit Festival Edenderry's Facebook page for further updates
