Webinar to take place on use of semi-State land in Midlands
Community Groups, sports clubs, recreational projects, and small businesses in the Midlands will hear directly from Bord na Móna, Coillte and the ESB about whether and how they can use semi-state land for their projects at a seminar being hosted by Senator Pippa Hackett, Minister for Land Use and Biodiversity on Thursday of next week, July 22.
“Many people come to me wondering about how to get access to semi-state land for recreational or commercial purposes, so I decided to bring the three big-hitters in the area, Borda na Mona, Coillte and the ESB together to tell them,” said Minister Hackett.
She described the upcoming event as "a really useful and informative seminar for people who have lots of ideas, but are wondering how they might get access to the land which can make them come to fruition.”
The Minister said the Midlands region is "brimming with ideas as we make the transition from brown-to-green" and she wants to and I want to "pave the way" for people with progressive ones. "So whether you want to run a mountain-biking event or bring a food truck onto public land, this seminar is for you” she added.
The seminar – Land Use, Community & Enterprise – will take place via Zoom on Thursday, July 22 at 2pm. As well as presentations from Bord na Móna, Coillte and the ESB, it will also include information sessions on funding from Fáilte Ireland and the Local Enterprise Office.
Asking everyone interested to register, the Minister concluded: “I would encourage anyone with even the seed of an idea to come along and get what they need in this one-stop shop for information. Who knows what ideas will emerge or what potential will be tapped when we put our heads together?”
